Education: The Key to Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

At Zion Foundation Rwanda, we firmly believe that education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world. Over the past five years, our scholarship program has supported more than 500 students from primary school through university, transforming lives and communities in the process.\n\nMeet Grace, one of our scholarship recipients. Growing up in a small village in the Southern Province, Grace dreamed of becoming a doctor. Her family could not afford school fees, and it seemed like her dream would remain just that – a dream. But with the support of our scholarship program, Grace is now in her third year of medical school at the University of Rwanda.\n\nOur education program goes beyond just providing scholarships. We invest in building and renovating schools, training teachers, and providing learning materials. We also run after-school tutoring programs that help students improve their academic performance.\n\nThe results speak for themselves: 95% of our scholarship recipients complete their education, and 80% go on to secure employment or start their own businesses within two years of graduation.\n\nWe are committed to expanding our education programs to reach even more children and young people across Rwanda.
